Rehearsal Journal Day 5

Updated: Sep 16, 2019

Rehearsal Plan:

Skeletal Blocking Scene 5 (the parts w/o Florian), 7, 9,11

6:30-7:30 Scene 5 (Dex/Tweek/Lang/Jak/Dead Dog)

7:30-9:00 Scene 9 (Jak/Lang/Dex/Tweek/Ikki Ikki)

9:00-10 Scene 8 (Jak/Lang)

10-10:30 Scene 11 (Lang/Jak)

Notes:

Another good day of rehearsal, but I must say that both Colin and I are ready for a day off. Directing is a lot harder when you're also self-producing. It seems like every time we surmount a problem, another comes around the corner to try and punch out our knees.

I'm happy with how much we got done on the big, crazy scene at the end, but there is still a lot of work that needs to be done on Dex and Tweek's vocal quality/movement. We discovered some animal work (Snake for Tweek, Mantichore for Dex) that brought some really interesting movement choices to the table. Colin thinks we should pull them back, but I don't think we've hit a good extreme to shoot for yet. I think they can do more, and we can have them veil in the earlier scenes.
